Tour description

If you love nature and photography, you’ll fall in love with Rastoke, a tiny village built on a network of turquoise waterfalls and wooden watermills. Many travellers just stop for a quick photo, but this tour gives you the time to truly explore and enjoy it.

From Zagreb, we drive about an hour and a half through the countryside into the mountains, where Rastoke appears like a fairy-tale on the Slunjčica river. With a local guide, you walk across wooden bridges, past old mills and cascades, learning how people once lived and worked here. It’s often described as a “miniature Plitvice Lakes”, but with a more intimate, village feel.

There is also time to visit a family-owned museum with waterfalls and traditional interiors. For an even richer experience, we recommend an optional lunch in an authentic restaurant overlooking the falls – the perfect backdrop for a slow, memorable meal.

Perfect for:

couples, photographers, families, nature lovers

Tour includes:

  • Private transportation in A/C vehicle with private driver

  • Hotel pick-up and drop-off

  • Special local guide in Rastoke

  • Tickets for a family-owned museum with waterfalls

Available add-on:

Traditional lunch in a restaurant overlooking the waterfalls – 40 € per person

Reviews

Tihana was a delight for start to finish. She is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about Zagreb and the history of Croatia. At every turn she generously shared a wealth of insights not so obvious to us as outsiders. It was obvious that her motivation was to optimize our time, understanding, experience in Zagreb. This included tips on restaurants, foods to try, walking tours we could do on our own, and even thoughts on the places we were next planning to travel within Croatia. We were sad to say goodbye

Tihana made the one day we had in Zagreb special. It was a rare rainy day, but (after realizing that we only had the one day) she modified the tour to make the best of it. Of course seeing the main sites in Zagreb was great, but what we enjoyed most was talking with Tihana and hearing her perspective on life in Zagreb/Croatia and its recent history. She also provided great recommendations (e.g., restaurants) for both before and after our tour (which included other parts of Croatia we were visiting). Tihana definitely helped us enjoy and make the most of our time in Zagreb!

An excellent day with Tirana-My wife and I spent the mid-morning to mid-afternoon with Tihana on the "Total Zagreb Tour." From the time I booked the tour she had excellent and helpful communication with us on tips for enjoying our Zagreb time which was so appreciated. Today (10/6/2023) she gave us a wonderful tour of this lovely city at both a pleasurable pace and with as much detail as you would want. She's passionate to deliver a positive experience and she totally delivered today!
