Tour description
The Zagorje region north of Zagreb is all rolling hills, vineyards and storybook villages – and this day trip shows you the best of it. Leaving the city behind, we follow scenic country roads to Veliki Tabor Castle, one of the most important examples of secular fortification architecture in continental Croatia. Its massive walls and inner courtyard feel like stepping back into the 16th century.
From there we continue to Kumrovec, an open-air Ethno Village that preserves authentic 19th-century houses and barns built of pressed earth and wood. The site includes around 40 restored buildings and is also famous as the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito. Walking through the village with your guide, you’ll get a real sense of how people lived and worked here in the past.
To round off the day, we recommend a traditional lunch prepared from organic local ingredients and served with regional wines – simple, honest food in a beautiful rural setting.

An excellent day with Tirana-My wife and I spent the mid-morning to mid-afternoon with Tihana on the "Total Zagreb Tour." From the time I booked the tour she had excellent and helpful communication with us on tips for enjoying our Zagreb time which was so appreciated.
