If you want to truly get a feeling for Zagreb in one relaxed, perfectly paced experience, this is the tour. Your guide picks you up at your hotel in a modern car or van and you start with a panoramic drive through the elegant Lower Town. On the way, you’ll hear the stories behind Zagreb’s grand façades, parks and monuments – not just dates, but anecdotes and little everyday details that bring the city to life.
The highlight of the drive is a visit to Mirogoj Cemetery, often called an open-air sculpture park. Its arcades, domes and monuments tell an emotional story about Zagreb’s history, art and people. We continue to be dropped off at the Upper Town – you continue on foot through the romantic cobblestone streets.
We will also include a stop at the famous Museum of Broken Relationships.Along the way we pause for a proper coffee break – because in Zagreb, coffee is a ritual, not a drink. This tour is ideal for first-time visitors who prefer a private, unhurried introduction to the city.

Tihana made the one day we had in Zagreb special. It was a rare rainy day, but (after realizing that we only had the one day) she modified the tour to make the best of it. Of course seeing the main sites in Zagreb was great, but what we enjoyed most was talking with Tihana and hearing her perspective on life in Zagreb/Croatia and its recent history. She also provided great recommendations (e.g., restaurants) for both before and after our tour (which included other parts of Croatia we were visiting). Tihana definitely helped us enjoy and make the most of our time in Zagreb!
